Vampire® Hair Treatment
Natural solutions to hair loss.
Hair loss can be devastating for both men and women.
Dr. Quinn Weight Loss often sees patients experiencing hair loss as either a side effect of poor diet and circulation, or as an unrelated genetic condition. The revolutionary Vampire® Hair Restoration procedure uses your own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injected into the scalp to encourage new hair growth.
The application of PRP causes miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more vigorous hair growth. Follicular progenitor cells become activated, and PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote rapid development of new blood vessels and localized cell growth.
What it Treats
- Increases blood supply to the follicle
- Increase shaft size (thickness)
- Triggers and maintains the growth phase
- Controls hair growth cycle
- Decrease hair loss

How it Works
After an initial consultation regarding hair restoration (and any other aesthetic concerns you might have) we will schedule an appointment for a day and time that works best fo you. The Vampire® Hair Regrowth and restoration treatment we offer at our Michigan clinics takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
First, we draw blood from your arm, which is then centrifuged to produce the PRP. We then administer a local anesthetic to completely numb the scalp treatment area. We are then able to inject PRP into the scalp to encourage hair growth. PRP contains numerous growth factors which promote rapid angiogenesis and localized cell growth.
The body reacts to the treated cells just like it does to a wound and immediately starts repairing the tissue. This builds the underlying tissue with tightening, smoothing, and increased blood flow that makes hair regrow.

What to Expect
There is no real downtime or noticeable effects of the procedure. We ask that patients refrain from washing their hair the day of the injection, but can resume as normal the following day. The majority of patients do not need any pain medication. For those that do, you can easily manage any pain with non-narcotic pain relievers such as Tylenol.
Some patients occasionally experience mild swelling of the forehead for one to two days after injections. This is normal and will typically resolve in 48 hours. We do recommend avoiding vigorous activity until the swelling is gone.
A series of 3 to 6 treatments each spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, is typically recommended for optimal hair restoration. The effect may start in as little as a week. But it may take at least 6 moths to see noticeable results.

- Can both men and women receive Vampire Hair Treatment?
Yes! Men and women across Michigan have experienced the benefits provided by vampire hair treatment.
- Who is a good candidate for Vampire Hair Treatment?
Anyone currently experiencing hair loss is a candidate for Vampire Hair Treatment at one of our locations in Novi, Shelby, Rochester, or Clarkston. The treatment will provide better results if the patient is in the earlier stages of hair loss. Hair follicles need to exist in the treatment area in order to provide results, and Vampire Hair Treatment cannot regrow hair follicles that have already died.
- How long will my Vampire Hair Treatment results last?
Results from your vampire hair treatment may take as many as 6 months to notice, but the full results can last for over a year! Typically, we recommend yearly follow-up appointments in order to maintain your results and avoid regression in the treated area.
- Why should I choose Vampire Hair Treatment over other hair loss treatments?
Each patient has their own unique needs, and certain treatments like hair drops, pills, or hair transplants may better suit them. However, the benefit of Vampire Hair Treatment is that the procedure is both highly effective and non-surgical. This makes the treatment more cost-effective than a hair transplant, while providing more consistent results than over-the-counter medications or subscription services.
- Are there any side effects to Vampire Hair Treatment?
Because Vampire Hair Treatment uses your body’s own growth factors to treat hair loss, many patients experience minimal to no side effects. The most common side effects that we tend to see in patients are swelling, tenderness, and soreness in the treatment area due to the scalp’s sensitivity. If you experience more severe side effects, such as bleeding or bruising, we recommend contacting your provider immediately.
